Central West End Demolitions Progressing Rapidly

The last of the San Luis:

All that remains is the central elevator tower.


The urban street wall of Lindell Boulevard now ends abruptly at Taylor Avenue.

BJC makes quick work of the Ettrick Building at Euclid & Forest Park:



A piece of limestone with a stylized Ettrick crest, which was part of a modern
alteration of the building's entrances, lies on the lawn along Forest Park Boulevard.  

Less than a block east, the front wing of Rabe Hall is no more:

I came across your blog while searching old photos of St Louis. Since I moved here I have a growing appreciation and remorse for the architecture in the city. I am so glad to have found your blog.

I'm so glad, in this horrible recession, that St. Louis 'civic pride' can support our demolition companies. We have been so good about supporting those companies for decades, it would have been a shame to lose them.
